On day two we started our day with breakfast at the local food markets. There was so much amazing food there it was a great way to start the day. Then we headed over to check out Sagrada Familia which is a massive church which is pretty much constantly under construction. We didn't go inside but the outside was stunning! Then we headed up the hill to Park Guell which is an Antonio Gaudi thing. It is basically a giant park and everything is done up in bright and colourful mosaics. It's really pretty!
That night we went to a Barcelona soccer match which was EPIC!!! I have been to a few soccer games here in Australia before and they were kind of boring but Europe is a whole other ball game (pardon the pun!) The stadium is massive and sits like 90,000 people. The night we went 99% of seats were full and every single person there was a Barcelona fan. They were all singing songs and cheering constantly and there was an epic mexican wave that lapped the stadium twice. We had to wait ages at the end of the game for everyone to leave so we could get a photo of the stadium and the coloured seats in the last photo. It was a life changing experience!!! Barcelona is Corey's favourite team in the Spanish league so this was pretty exciting for him too as you will see in the photos.
On the last day in Barcelona we took a trip to Monseratt which is a monastery up the top of a giant mountain. We had to take an insane cable car ride to get up there. It probably was not that insane but I had heights and I hate riding in rickety things that might break and send me plummeting to my death so for me this was hectic. The monastery was quite nice. I was just expecting a church or something at the top of a mountain but it was like a whole little village. It was pretty cool!

After Barcelona Hayley and her boyfriend Kieran headed back to London, Adam & Nicola headed to Ibiza and Joe, Kelly, Jimmy, Corey and I headed to Italy for a whirlwind tour of Rome, Florence and Venice. Stay tuned for that next!

I really want to visit Barcelona. This post only confirms that.
This brings back so many fond memories of my trip to Spain a few years ago. Aren't the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell fantastic? Gaudi's work is like nothing I've ever seen and totally rocks. We weren't able to make it to Montserrat, but I wish we had!
Fantastic photos Kat, you guys were busy!!
