Euro Trip - Part 1 - London

I have decided to break up my posts about my holiday into each city that we visited and then do a couple extra on the food and the shopping.  So starting from the beginning is London.  This will be the biggest post cause we were there for over a week so better to get it out of the way first.  We flew into London on Monday morning at like 7am and had to try and keep ourselves awake all day to fight of jetlag so once we dumped our bags at my sisters we headed straight out to the sights.  We saw Big Ben, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey etc etc.  We walked along the river and just generally did anything to keep us awake.  It worked until we sat down for dinner at the pub and I literally fell asleep at our table.  That's what happens when you sit in a corner with squishy chairs.

On the second day Corey, Jimmy, Kelly and Joe set off for Amsterdam and I spent two days wedding dress shopping with my sister.  The good news.....I bought a dress!!!  It is currently hiding in my house from Corey but needs to be taken to mums asap and hung up.  It's a tea length dress and exactly what I wanted and that is all I am going to say about that :P  On Thursday Joe & Kelly went off to visit some of Kelly's family and Jimmy went off to visit his family so Corey and I got to spend a couple of days alone with Hayley and Kieran.  We spent Thursday at the British Museum which was really interesting and we also hunted out Platform 9 3/4.

On Friday we spent the morning at Borough Markets which are an amazing food markets.  Everyone has taste testers at their stalls so you just wander around all day and taste test.  They have everything from meat, fish and cheese to wines & desserts and cakes.  It was amazing!!!  After we wander around their for a while we went and saw the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.  Unfortunately I do not have any photos from this day cause I only took my slr out and it got stolen the next night before I loaded any photos onto facebook.  On Friday night we went to see the Lion King which was AMAZING!!! I would see it again in a heartbeat.

On Saturday we went to Portobello Markets and Camden Markets and then we went out to dinner with our friends on Brick Lane.  This was the night my camera was stolen so again no photos from during the day but when I get photos off my friend I will be able to show you some of the markets but that won't be for a week or 2.  Here is one from the pub before we went to dinnner that I got on my point and shoot.

On Sunday Joe, Kelly and Jimmy went and saw all the sights we had seen the days that they had been away so we just had a nice relaxing morning and then went and visited some friends of ours who live in London.  Kieran's sister who I went to primary school with also came to visit and we went out for Sunday dinner.

On Monday we took a trip to the seaside also known as Brighton.  Brighton is a really cute little seaside town and we spent the whole day wandering around the little lanes checking out the shops.  We also visited Brighton Pier which has an arcade and carnival rides on the end of it which was a lot of fun.

Did you also get yourself a veil like the one in the picture on Brigton Pier? Looks like you had a fabulous time (apart from the nicked camera) and takes me back 6 years when I was living there!

Thanks for sharing.
