Wedding Wednesday (on Thursday, again!)
I am going to start calling this Wedding Wednesday or Thursday because it seems to be happening on Thursdays more regularly now. I am currently on my 3rd work day of 8 in a row in the lead up to Melbourne Cup so I might be a little mia after this post. But until then here are some photos of a wedding that I found via the Stephanie James Couture Blog. I love everything about this brides look. The shoes, the dress, the polka dot petticoat, her veil and her little necklace. Its perfection!

Number 35 - Learn How to Sew Knit Fabric
I am super duper excited about this project. So excited in fact that I am posting it before it is truly finished. I have been wanting to learn how to sew knits for some time now and it was number 35 on my list of 101 in 1001. I have seen so many nice knit tops lately that I decided I had to try soon. A few weeks ago I started seeing the tessuti fave top around the blog world a lot and decided that would be my first knit project. When I stumbled across this awesome grey tie dye knit in Spotlight today I decided today was the day.
I am so happy with how this turned out! It is not even finished yet and I don't want to take it off. I still need to finish the hem, neck and sleeves. The hem is not as uneven as it looks it was just a bit folded under in the photo. So what did I learn from this first knit project:-
1 - Knit fabrics are not as scary as you might think.
2 - Knit fabrics and a lot harder to cut out then wovens.
3 - You need to use a ballpoint needle when sewing knits (the lady in Spotlight told me that and I bought some but forgot to use them).
I will definately be trying out more knit projects in the future. I have seen a few nice cardigans that I would like to try and an awesome halter neck style vest that requires no sewing at all. Keep an eye out for more knits in the future.

Camping @ Thunderbird Park (Picture Heavy)
As you all know, this past weekend we went camping with a few of our friends up the mountain at Thunderbird Park. It was a lot of fun. We left Friday afternoon and with all our stuffing around buying food and stuff on the way we didn't actually get there till quite late in the arvo. So once we got there we set up our tents and started a fire and relaxed and toasted marshmallows.
This is our tiny tent. Everyone else had massive tents so ours looked miniature next to theirs.
This was the creek that run behind our campsite. It was quite nice to have the sound of the water running past at night time. It drowned out all the noise of everyone else in the campsite.
On Saturday we went down to Cedar Creek Falls and walked down the track to the rockpools. There was a nice waterfall there. You are not meant to swim there because a few people have been injured jumping off the falls but we all stuck our feet in anyway.
I am adding this photo of my friend Kelly to my "portraits of people that I am happy with list" which is one of my challenges in my 101 in 1001. I want to get 15 photos I am happy with. So far I have 3.
On Sunday we went to the Bearded Dragon for breakfast and I managed to get a group shot with my self timer on my camera. It worked out pretty well I think.
After breakfast we headed home but not without stopping past Albert River first to show the crew where we will be getting married. It's the first time Corey and I have been there when it is in full bloom. The vineyards are lovely and green and the jacarandas are all out. They line the driveway which is lovely. And of course we visited the animals too.
And then it was home time. We had a lot of fun camping and will definitely be going again but I think we will have to wait until after Europe.
23.
Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 23. It was a really fun day. After we packed up the campsite we went and had a nice breakfast the camping crew then we took them past our wedding venue on the way home to see the vineyards in bloom. It is the first time Corey and I had seen it like that as well and we were extremely happy with how it looked. Then we went and visited some of Corey's family then came home unpacked all our camping stuff and went to my parents for dinner. We got to skype my sister which was lots of fun too.
This is my amazing cake that my equally amazing mummy made for me. It is an icecream cookie sandwich cake from the newest Women's Weekly cake book. It was delicious!
I got some really cool presents as well. Corey bought me some clothes and a really awesome pair of wedges which I don't have a photo of yet. The top I am wearing in the photo above was from him. I got a lovely bracelet from some friends, new pyjamas and a cold rock to make ice cream and some cupcake pot holders from Mum and Dad. They also gave me money to go towards my passport. I got some gorgeous cupcake holders from my Grandma and my sister got me an H&M giftcard so I can shop when we got visit her and also these......
They're Minnie Mouse ear hair clips!!!! She got them from Disneyland in Japan on the way over to the UK so she has had them since around May waiting to send them to me. I love them!!!! And just cause these are super cute here is a photo of my new pjs......
They say "I'm so blogging this" I thought I better blog that! Well I am off now to go and see the Valentino exhibit at the GOMA with my mummy. I will be back later with loads of photos to show you guys from camping.

We are off for a wee camping trip up the mountain. We will be back Sunday (my birthday) but I am planning on spending the next two nights sitting around the camp fire, roasting marshmallows, playing cards and relaxing with my friends. See you all soon xo

Chicken, Corn and Bacon Muffins
We have a night function on tonight at work that I am running so I got to do the late shift today. I like doing the late shift. I always have very productive mornings when I work the late shift. Today I did some laundry, pack our stuff for camping this weekend and baked some muffins to take camping.
INGREDIENTS
I have not tasted these yet but they smell delicious! If they taste as good I think I might make some more next week to take for work lunches.
INGREDIENTS
Instant polenta is not suitable for this recipe. Muffins can be kept refrigerated in an airtight container for two days.
½ cup (85g) polenta
½ cup (125ml) milk
3 bacon rashers, trimmed, chopped finely
4 green onions (green shallots), chopped finely
2 eggs, beaten lightly
60g butter, melted
125g can creamed corn
310g can corn kernels, drained
1½ cups (225g) self-raising flour
50g cheddar cheese, cut into 12 cubes
¼ cup (30g) finely grated cheddar cheese
½ cup (85g) polenta
½ cup (125ml) milk
3 bacon rashers, trimmed, chopped finely
4 green onions (green shallots), chopped finely
2 eggs, beaten lightly
60g butter, melted
125g can creamed corn
310g can corn kernels, drained
1½ cups (225g) self-raising flour
50g cheddar cheese, cut into 12 cubes
¼ cup (30g) finely grated cheddar cheese
METHOD
Combine the polenta and milk in a large bowl. Stand for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to moderately hot (200°C/180°C fan-forced). Grease a 12-hole (1/3 cup/80ml) muffin pan.
Cook bacon in a small heated non-stick frying pan until browned and crisp. Add onion; cook, stirring, 1 minute.
Add the eggs, butter, creamed corn and corn kernels to the polenta mixture; whisk to combine. Add the bacon mixture and sifted flour to the bowl; stir until just combined.
Spoon 1 tablespoon muffin mixture into each pan hole, top with a cube of cheddar. Divide remaining muffin mixture among pan holes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a moderately hot oven for about 20 minutes. Stand muffins for
5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack.
Serve warm or cooled. Makes 12.

Wedding Wednesday
Corey and I went and met with a florist up the mountain on the weekend to get a quote done for our wedding flowers. It's safe to say Corey had absolutely no interest in what flowers we were going to have but I thought it would be nice to have his input. So after my initial idea of have peonies I become really into the idea of having carnations. Now I know they are not your typical wedding flower but I have seen some great bouquets and centerpieces done with them. I think they are a very underrated flower!

These ones are pretty much the exact colour that I want! I think they will stand out perfectly against the girls dresses and better yet they will match my shoes :P

So all in all I am very happy with that decision. I am still getting the frilly flowery look that I was after in the perfect shade of pink and also saved some money along the way. Now I just need my tax to come through so I can pay my florist a deposit and we'll be all set!

I know it's only October......
But I can't wait for Christmas!!! I even bought decorations on the weekend. It's not my fault. This is our first Christmas being in our own house so we need to buy pretty much everything. We bought a few things on sale last year but we need a lot more plus we need a tree. I have been holding out for weeks while the decorations have been coming out in the shops but I couldn't take it anymore on Sunday and just had to buy a few things. So to get you all in the Christmas mood here are some pics I found via We Heart It.

I can't wait to decorate our tree and bake gingerbread men and a gingerbread house. I also can't wait to start crafting some things for around the house. I really want to make a wreath. I have a foam wreath I bought from Spotlight last year on sale sitting in my craft room waiting to be made. I am thinking a yarn wreath. I have seen some great ones around the blog world. I also want to make some "Merry Christmas" bunting to hung up. I would like to make more but we have a small house so not a lot of space for decorations. Maybe next year when we are in a bigger place I can make some more stuff.
