Wedding Wednesday

This week my mind has been consumed with the thought of having a candy bar at the wedding. Being allergic to chocolate means that I have developed a great love of lollies and Corey is quite fond of his lollies too so not only is a candy bar a fun addition to the wedding but they really do represent me and Corey. Here are some great candy bars I have seen around the web....

I think that last one is definately my favourite. I just love all the colours. One thing I have learnt is for the table to look impressive it needs to be full. I have seen a few that use small boxes for people to fill lined up along the sides of the table to fill it a bit. That way all the lollies are bunched together in the middle and it is more visually appealing. I am on the lookout for jars as well so if anyone sees any in their travels that would look cool let me know.

Daily Style

I have not done a daily style post in ages!!! Since before we went to Canberra. So I thought it was about time I posted one. This was taken on Saturday night on our way to the movies. Corey and I went to see Eclipse. I really liked it! I am excited to see how the last one turns out because it was my favourite book in the series. I hope it is not too disappointing. I always find when I read a book then see the movie that the movie is a let down. Do you find that too?

Daily Style

Anyways that is what I wore to the movies. And I have been wanting to show you my other new lipstick but I keep forgetting to take a photo when I wear it. Here it is.....

New Lipstick - Pink!

Its like a light but bright pink and I love it!!! I am really getting into lipstick now even though I only have 2 colours. I have a feeling my collection will start to grow though :P

Welcome to the world Marlee!

I have been meaning to write this post all weekend but we have been so busy I just haven't had the time. At 4:30am Friday morning Corey's sister (and my future sister-in-law) Krystal gave birth to her little girl Marlee Rose Nalewah Johnson at just 26 weeks. She weighed 2.2 pounds and was 35cm long. She is the cutest little thing ever!!!

At the moment she is in the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and from all signs is doing really well. Because they knew she was going to come early they were able to give Krystal some steroid shots to help Marlee's lungs develop. She is on CPAP but is progressing well. So welcome to the world Marlee Rose. We love you and we can't wait for you to come home!

Wedding Wednesday

I have been wanting to post some of my wedding inspiration stuff lately but I decided instead of just posting stuff willy-nilly I would start doing a regular post once a week. So here begins the start of Wedding Wednesday. Now according to my calculations there are 69 Wednesdays between today and the wedding so don't be surprised if I skip a few but right now the wedding has taken over my brain so I need to get some of the ideas into one central spot for later. So for this week I am focusing on my colour scheme. I am going for a pink, yellow and orange colour scheme. I like the bright and pale versions of this grouping but I think the pale will compliment our venue better. Here are some pictures that are inspiring me....

November 12th 2011

We have a wedding date! We booked our venue yesterday and it is now official. On November 12th 2011 I will become Mrs Lane! I knew from the minute we drove up the driveway of the venue yesterday that that was the place I would be getting married. It is a winery which is halfway between where we live and where Corey grew up. It is very country and I love it. Where we will be having the reception is on this massive timber verandah of a gorgeous old Queenslander. It is going to be amazing. So now that we have a date I can start planning everything else.

So I have been looking online at some wedding dresses and I am really drawn to the tea-length 50's style dresses. I just discovered this amazing designer Stephanie James. Her dresses are stunning. These three are my favourite...

I can't wait to start trying some dresses on. It is going to be so much fun!

Kat's Creations is Back!!!

You may have noticed that I have changed my blog name back to Kat's Creations. Sorry to keep changing and confusing everyone but there is good reason for the change...this amazing drawing was gifted to me by the very lovely and very talented Miss Mazz from Movie Mazzupial.

Isn't it just the coolest thing ever!!!! I have always wanted a custom drawing or something to use as my blog header so I was super duper stoked when I received this little suprise in the mail yesterday. Clearly, I didn't waste time in getting it up onto my blog. And even better news is that Mazz has told me that she will be starting an etsy shop soon selling some of her drawings so if you want one for yourself you will be able to get one soon. Keep an eye out and I will let you know when her shop opens.

Canberra/Snow Trip - Part 3

So after all the excitement of the snow we headed back to Canberra to spend a couple more nights with our friends Orie & Corey. We spent Saturday doing some sightseeing. We went to Parliament House, The Mint and The War Memorial then we went and watched Orie play footy. That night we went to a club called Mooseheads where Orie's uncle is one of the bouncers. Since we were out so late Saturday night Sunday was a bit of a write off. We slept in then went to breakfast then tried to squeeze in Questacon before we had to be at the airport. It was a rush job so I don't have any good photos of that. Here are some photos from Saturday though....

So that is the end of our trip. We had so much fun in Canberra and in the snow. We will definately be going back to the snow again. A few people have asked me about Corey and I and how we met and how he proposed and stuff so I am going to do a little post about us soon. So if your interested keep an eye out for that.

Canberra/Snow Trip - Part 2

Okay so onto the snow portion of our holiday....On Sunday we caught a bus from Canberra to Perisher. It took 3 hours and was BORING!!! But it was all worth it when I got my first real look at snow. It was awesome! I absolutely love the snow and will most definately be going back there again. Now I won't bore you with a breakdown of everyday we were there because there were all pretty much the same (except for Tuesday when Corey proposed!!!). We stayed at the Matterhorn Lodge which was really nice. The staff were all very friendly and we have breakfast and dinner provided everyday and the food was always superb. Every morning we had a 2.5 hour lesson then in the afternoon we just mucked around on the slopes by ourselves. Here are some photos........

Canberra/Snow Trip - Part 1

Thank you to everyone for the lovely comments on my previous post. It is a very exciting time for me and Corey and we are both extremely happy that we are going to become husband and wife. We have started to brainstorm on where we would like to get married and have been getting some prices. We are going to look at somewhere on Sunday actually! So I thought that I would show you a bit more of what happened on our holiday but I will break it up into a couple of posts so I don't overload you all with photos. Here goes......

Plane View
(the view from the plane window on Friday morning)

We flew down to Canberra on Friday morning and were picked up by our friends Orie and Corey (yes another Corey...a girl Corey...this could get a little confusing). They were getting married on the Saturday so Friday was spent rushing around helping them get last minute things organised. Then on Saturday we had the wedding. I took some photos of Orie and his bestman Tom getting ready before the wedding as a present to Corey (girl Corey). Here are some photos from Saturday.....

After the wedding

The wedding was held at the Diamant Hotel in Canberra and was wonderful. We sat with Orie's family at the reception and they were all so nice and friendly. It was a great night! On Sunday we had breakfast with Orie & Corey before jumping on a bus to go to Perisher. It was a 3 hour drive and by the end of it Corey was sick of me asking "When will I see snow?" Ha ha! God love him. I have heaps of photos from the snow so I might keep them for the next post. See you soon!
