Eye Spy...My turn to pick a theme.

Cindy has asked me to pick the theme for this weeks Eye Spy meme. I am very excited and honoured to be able to pick the first theme for 2009. I think of new years as a time to reflect on the past year and remember great things that happened and make plans for the new year.

So for my theme I have chosen...........Eye Spy My Best Memory of 2008.

Now this could be an event that happened in your life, an achievement, a song or just an image. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Just A Minute....In December

So we are nearing the end of December. I have decided to join in the Just A Minute meme started by August Street. This way if I do not get a chance to write much about what I have been doing I will get a chance to fill you in every month. So here is my first just a minute...

Reading
I just bought the last book in the Twilight series "Breaking Dawn" by Stephanie Meyer. I have only read two chapters so far but I am loving it. I have a stack more books to read before I go back to uni in March.

Studying
NOTHING! It is so exciting to not have to worry about assignments and study for three months. I have enrolled in my subjects for next semester but until March I do not have to think about uni at all.

Listening
To my new pink ipod Corey bought me for christmas. I have only got like 70 songs on it at the moment but I am trying not to go too crazy on itunes. So at the moment I have only bought a few songs and then loaded my cds onto it.

Watching
We went and saw the Twilight movie the other night and it was AMAZING! I have become a little addicted to Twilight. My television addiction is NCIS. I love it. They play it on normal tv and on fox so I watch it at least once a day.
Making
I made my cousin's little girl a purple floral dress for christmas but I forgot to take a photo before I gave it to her. I just signed up for the Twilight themed swap on Craftster so the next things I will be making will be for that. I also want to make myself a ruffle apron and finish my dress I started.

If you would like to join in Just A Minute visit August Street.

Eye Spy...the christmas aftermath

This weeks Eye Spy theme was chosen by Cindy.  She chose Eye Spy...the christmas aftermath.  I didn't take a lot of pictures of the aftermath and I used a couple of pics on the last post so here are the two good ones I have left.

Roxy enjoying the wrapping paper.

Happy Boxing Day!

I hope everybody had an awesome Christmas day yesterday. I certainly enjoyed my Christmas. Every christmas eve we have chinese for dinner and what the christmas carols from melbourne. I usually fall asleep before the end of carols and my sister stays up but this year it was the other way around.

Christmas started a little early because my sister had to start work at 7:30 so we were up at 5:00 to open our santa sacks and presents. My sister and dad had oysters for breakfast and my mum and I had pancakes. Then we went down to the beach and had a long relaxing day and a barbecue for lunch. In the night time everyone came back to our house and we sat and ate and drank and played Rock Band (corey's present from me). It was awesome.

(me with my feet up at the beach relaxing)
(me on the drums and my sister on guitar)
I hope everyone had an amazing christmas. I am a bit annoyed cause I made my cousins little girl a really cute little dress for christmas and forgot to photo it before I gave it to her. I will have to wait till she wears it and get a photo then.
I will be on the Central Coast of NSW for the next four days so I may not get time to do any posts. So until next week take care.

Merry Christmas

I just want to wish everybody in blogland a very merry christmas and a happy new year. Thank you to everyone who has visited my blog this year and left me comments. When I first started this blog I had no idea what to expect from it. I just thought it was going to be me blabbing about my crafts to no one. The reality has been something different altogether. I have gotten so much support and inspiration from everyone who reads my blog and all the blogs I read. I am very thankful for everyones support. I hope that the new year brings just as many new friends from blogland. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
(p.s - the picture is of a spiderman doll we won at the ekka last year and it has been hanging above our stairs ever since. It scares the crap out of so many people when they visit our house but we love it.)

Eye Spy...A Little Bit of Bling

This weeks Eye Spy theme was chosen by Hoppo Bumpo and she chose Eye Spy...a little bit of bling. The bling that I have chosen are my favourite two rings. The one on the left belonged to my nanna who died before I was born so this is really the only memory of hers I have. I treasure it with my life. The other ring was bought for me by my boyfriend for christmas two years ago. I absolutely love it and get so many people asking me where I got it from. For more Eye Spy fun head on over to Bug and Pop.

Last night we went to look at all the christmas lights around the Gold Coast. There were some really amazing houses. Some whole streets get into and there is actually one point in Coombabah where you can drive around a 5 street block and nearly ever single house is decorated. This house was my favourite and I think it qualifies for the little bit of bling theme as well.

And just for fun here is a picture on my dog Roxy in the car during christmas lighting. She absolutely loved driving around in the car and getting to explore all the different neighbourhoods.

Whatya Wearing Wednesday

I am very excited because this officially the first post that I have posted off my mac laptop which I got from my boyfriend for my birthday. The poor mac has been neglected quite a bit as I didn't have internet for it. But yesterday I got off my lazy behind and went and investigated getting internet on my laptop. So now I am the proud owner of a macbook with vodafone portable broadband. I am so excited.

In other news I have had such a busy day at work that I have not had a chance to take a photo for what you wearing wednesday. So I have decided to use a photo from the vault. This photo is of my favorite pair of shoes. I love love love them. I have only worn them twice but I just adore them. This photo was taken on the way to the Chris Brown concert while I was bored in the car. If anyone wants to play along in what you wearing wednesday just pop over to Fii's blog to join.

Also, for all of you with children. Please do one thing for me this school holidays and take them to see Madagascar 2. It is the most hilarious movie I have ever seen. We went and saw it last night with my sister and her boyfriend and I had the sorest stomach by the end from laughing. There was a little girl sitting in front of us with the funniest laugh so every time something funny happened I laughed at the movie and then at her laugh. It was great.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having fun preparing for christmas. Only 8 more sleeps to go! Merry Christmas!

Eye Spy...A Burst of Colour

This weeks eye spy is Eye Spy A Burst of Colour. This weeks topic is courtesy of Flossy-P. My picture is of the hot pink wrapping paper our christmas presents from our Aunty and Uncle were sent in. I love pink. It is one of my favourite colours and I love how this paper stands out in between the green branches of the tree.

For more Eye Spy fun head on over to Bug and Pop to see who else is playing.

Choc Chip Cookie Goodness

Today was a bit of a lazy day for me. I spent the morning at the shops wandering around and having lunch and then came home and watched a movie on Austar. Halfway through the movie I felt the need to make cookies. So I whipped up these choc chip cookies using a recipe from the Womens Weekly Bake Cookbook and the left over choc chips from coreys birthday cake. And may I just say they are delicious. They are the type of cookies that just melt in your mouth. But now the house is boiling from me having the oven on. So I'm off to sit in the backyard, read a book and try to cool down.

My sassy apron has arrived!

I am so so so excited. My sassy apron has arrived all the way from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have never ever received a parcel from so far away so I am feeling very special at the moment. My parcel was sent to me by Danetta. And let me tell you she has sent me one awesome parcel.
This is the whole package that she sent me.

This is the full view of the apron. It is snowman and snowflake printed material and it is fully lined.

She also sent me a recipe for the family favourite sugar cookies and also a packet mix which she has advised me are the easy way of making the cookies.

She also sent me some snowflake cookie cutters.

And some blue sugar sprinkles.

I am so so happy with my parcel. I can't wait to use the cookie cutters. They are just adorable. Thank you so much Danetta for everything you have sent me. It is awesome.

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday

I have decided to join in on Fii's Whatcha Wearing Wednesday meme. Usually I work on wednesdays so you'll be able to see what I wear to work but somedays it may be a case of pjs on the lounge. Everyone needs a pjs on the lounge day once in a while.
(I never realised how hard it is to take a photo of your own outfit)

Today was really hot here and I was not feeling very comfortable so I wore my favourite comfy day dress from Tree of Life with a belt I bought for $2 from the op shop and my sportsgirl leggings(which you can't see). Basic and comfy. Perfect for work.

My New Apron

This is an apron that I just whipped up this afternoon. I had a heap of material left over from my sassy apron swap apron and decided I would make an apron for myself as well. It is very basic at the moment. I am thinking of putting a pocket on the front of it. I'm not sure yet.

This is the ceramic serving set that I mentioned in my earlier post.

On My Christmas Tree

I have been inspired while reading everyones On My Fridge posts and decided that I would do an On My Christmas Tree post. If anyone wants to play along with me leave me a comment so everyone can come check out your christmas trees too.
This year we have a brand new christmas tree because our last one was a bit old and had lost a few branches. My sister and I decorated the tree last week. It is a tradition that every year my sister and I put the tree up and decorate it together.
This first decoration is my favourite. My aunty made it for me when I was in primary school. She made one for everyone in our family. Mine is a ballerina, my sisters is a bear in pyjamas, my mums is holding a candy cane and my dads is two bears on a sled.
This second decoration is on my mum bought me when I was in primary school. She bought one for me and one for my sister and every year she puts a packet of lifesavers in there on christmas eve for us to eat on christmas day. Its like an extra present to unwrap.
This last ornament I just bought today. There is a christmas shop near where I work called Santas Workshop and they were having a 50% off sale. We popped in for a quick look and I ended up buying this decoration. I also got a ceramic dinnerware set, the plate says cookies for santa, the mug says milk for santa and the bowl says reindeer treats. It was only $10.

I hope everyone is having fun getting ready for christmas and I hope some of you choose to play along too.

I Spy...Something in My Garden

This weeks I Spy theme was chosen by Curlypops and she chose something in my garden. These photos are of my strawberry bush that I planted a while back. They strawberries are amazing! They are always a really nice bright red and sweet. I am yet to have a bad strawberry off this plant. The purple flowers are off a bush that is in the garden next to our driveway. I just really love the colour of them. The last picture is of a sign that my mum bought me from the markets at Mount Tambourine when we went for mothers day. It was when I was just starting my garden. My mum is so nice. Its mothers day and we are meant to be spoiling her yet she is still buying us presents.
For more I Spy fun head on over to Bug and Pop and check out who is playing.

My new knitted beret

I finished knitting this beret on monday night but I have been sick for the past couple of days so I couldn't get a photo cause I looked hideous and had no one else to model for me. So now that I am feeling better I can finally reveal it. It is a pattern from last winters spotlight knitting magazine and it is quite easy. It has a 8 row ribbed border at the bottom and then a diagonal rib pattern around the rest of the beret. It is a little bit tight but it should stretch a little bit as I wear it.

This is the second item I have completed off my to do list after I finished my sassy apron swap. So now I am on to the next beret and another sewing project. Hopefully I will have something else finished to show you all soon.

The apron has reached its destination!

My partner for the sassy apron swap was Leah and she has already received my package. Good work Australia Post I only sent it on Monday. So now I can finally reveal what the apron looks like. I forgot to take some proper pictures before I sent everything so these pictures have been borrowed from Leah's blog.
The entire package.

The cookie cutters.

The apron.

And a few magazines that I threw in as extra.

I am so glad that she like the apron. I have some material left over so I am going to make on similar for myself. This was my first swap ever and I am glad that my partner like what I made. I can't wait to be involved in another swap soon.
